Exposition collective de fin de résidence à la Villa Belleville du 23 juin au 25 juin : ow Do You Know Tomorrow Has Started If There’s No Night?

Le 21 juin à 05h 45, rdv à 30 Rue du Chevalier de la Barre, 75018 Paris (derriere la Basilique du Sacré-Cœur) pour fêter le solstice d’été avec les artistes résidents, Ekaterina Shcherbakova et des suprises.

Vernissage le 23 juin à partir de 18h.

A l’occasion de leur sortie de résidence et du solstice d’été, la Villa Belleville et les artistes résidents vous invitent à découvrir leurs travaux réalisés depuis mars 2017. L’occasion de découvrir tous les ateliers partagés et les ateliers d’artistes de Villa Belleville le temps d’un week end portes ouvertes.

Pour cet événement nous avons invité Ekaterina Shcherbakova, curatrice indépendante, à porter son regard sur la diversité des artistes de la Villa Belleville en proposant l’exposition intitulée: How Do You Know Tomorrow Has Started If There’s No Night?

Dawn as truth, as irreversibility,
Sleep as crime, as a denial of witness,
While the prisoner of time drifts in the storm
of Saturn’s hexagon
Unfettered from Calypso’s captivity
Provided with nectar and breath of the fair wind
Declined the divinity
In favour of observing a fixed number of daybreaks

Solstice Mission accomplished effectually
Though Night Watch is feasible just in « Night on Earth »

While tripping in the universal wakeful space

Exposure will capture the 17 on the 21st in the 18th facing the east
Or perhaps it already has
On the lightest length
Through the puffs of smoke
And waltzing shadows
Reflected in distorted mirrors
That have absorbed the hole into wonderland
Of a perforated globe
Someone has eavesdropped a secret plan of escape
From the nightmare of participation
After climbing on the burning mountain
And drew it on a napkin
Put into the trash afterwards
